It’s a nice gesture and allows even complete newbies to the series (like myself) to see not only what the latest entry in the series brings, but also its origins too. However, there are improvements that make gameplay smoother, efficient, and more enjoyable. This can be said for God Eater as gameplay doesn’t really change, it’s the story and characters that do. If you’re familiar with the likes of the Monster Hunter series, you know that gameplay throughout the instalments is pretty uniform – accept a task, hunt the monster/collect the item, and return to base. The customization for your team stats and bonuses is endless and allows you to create your ideal team whether its attack or defense based.
